Sharon Buckingham is a well-known screenwriter and producer with both feature and television credits.


As writer and producer, she was the creative force behind Sticks & Stones, a movie for television for the CTV Network. Sticks & Stones won both the Shaw Rocket Prize for Best Canadian Family TV Program, the award for Best Foreign Film at the International Family Film Festival and was nominated for Gemini and Canadian Indy Awards as Best Movie for Television.


On the hour-long dramatic series front, she created and is developing Rachel’s Watch (with Alfons Adetuyi and Inner City Films). She is presently working on Harm’s Way and Lost & Found, two other original drama series ideas as well as Eye Witness, a game show. Sharon worked as a story editor and writer on the long-running US/Canada television series Beastmaster.


Sharon’s feature film credits include The Genie Award Best Picture nominee To Walk with Lions starring Richard Harris and Owd Bob starring James Cromwell. She was also an uncredited writer on features Nico the Unicorn and For Hire. Her outline for the original comedy feature Sweet Dreams was funded through Telefilm Canada’s Writer’s First Program.


On the producing front, Sharon currently holds the option on two television properties, Car Daddy, a reality show created by Lynn Tarzwell and Ayden Suatec and The Dart League Diaries, created by Jennifer Mulligan.
