Rick Kaulbars has worked as a television/multi-media writer for over twenty years. While his style focuses on humour he brings a broadly based skill set that marries well to any production. For many years he worked as a stand-up comedian, a writer for The Comedy Network as well as several animated series. However he’s also adept at writing corporate and government videos, having written three productions this year for clients as varied as Finance Canada and CATSA. Kevin Spencer, The Comedy Network cult-hit series he co-wrote, received two Gemini nominations and remains Canada’s longest running situation based comedy series.
Rick has written awards shows, specifically Canada Post’s Silver Postmark Awards as well as the annual CFTPA Awards Gala (2008-2009) where he had the privilege of working with Nicholas Campbell (Da Vinci’s Inquest) and Cathy Jones (22 Minutes).
Other series he’s written for include White Fang, Toad Patrol and For Better or for Worse. He is presently negotiating the option on his proposed television series The Driver and often works as an actor, onscreen and onstage.
